PSV Eindhoven eased to a 6-1 victory over Utrecht with Xavi Simons, Guus Til and Anwar El Ghazi all netting doubles.

After the simple victory over Zurich, Guus Til was one again up front for PSV Eindhoven, who took the lead in the 8th minute. Xavi Simons was played in on goal by Joey Veerman and the midfielder chipped the ball over Vasilis Barkas.

It was almost 2-0 straight away with Cody Gakpo firing just wide, but in the 24th minute, Sander van de Streek took advantage of a poor clearance to make it 1-1.

In the 33rd minute, Til tapped in a Philipp Max cross to restore PSV’s lead and the striker then headed in a third from Cody Gakpo’s cross to add a third before the break.

Henk Fraser was not pleased with his team and he made three changes at the break. Bas Dost, Jens Toornstra and Modibo Sagnan were replaced by Tousas Douvikas, Rocco Shein and Mike van der Hoorn.

The changes didn’t work as Til set up Simons to net a fourth on the hour mark which led to Van Nistelrooy resting the goalscorer and Veerman. Anwar El Ghazi came on and he scored twice in the final five minutes to make the score 6-1 at the end. Ki-Jana Hoever provided assists for both.

PSV’s win put them temporarily top of the table, while Utrecht is ninth.
