AZ Alkmaar defeated ADO Den Haag 1-0 in the Kyocera Stadion thanks to a second-half Guus Til effort.

With only one point from the last three matches, ADO boss Alfons Groenendijk decided to make changes for the visit of AZ. Tom Beugelsdijk and Indy Groothuizen were benched for Nicky Kuipers and Robert Zwinkels.

The changes had the desired effect for the hosts as AZ Alkmaar failed to turn their dominance into chances. Neither side could muster up a shot on target in a poor first half.

Five minutes into the second half, AZ took the lead when the ball landed at Guus Til’s feet following a scramble and the midfielder prodded it past Zwinkels.

AZ managed to hold onto the slender lead with Erik Falkenburg putting the hosts best chance of an equaliser wide. AZ are sixth following the win while ADO are 13th.
