Keurntjes returns to De Graafschap, the club where he started his career in the youth set up, on an initial two-year deal. The move, which is subject to successful completion of a medical, will see the midfielder slot into the team on his familiar left side. Peter Hofstede, Sporting Director at De Graafschap, spoke about the move saying “with Tim, we get a player that can play in various positions on the left, who has his roots in De Graafschap. He has played more than 80 games in professional football.”
De Graafschap were recently relegated to the Jupiler League following a disappointing season, but the club could be reinstated to the Eredivise. FC Twente have been punished for financial irregularities with demotion to the second tier but the decision is pending appeal. De Graafschap will hope that decision is upheld so Keurntjes return will be in the Eredivise.
Keurntjes has had spells at FC Groningen, SC Cambuur and Telstar before returning to De Graafschap.
