With only one year left on his PSV contract, Toivonen seemed on his way out of the club, as he wouldn’t sign a new contract, while coach Philip Cocu stated he would play in the reserves if no deal was agreed for him to stay, or go.
Norwich City then had a bid accepted for the Swedish Internatioanl, but the player delayed his decision over the move, and is still at PSV after being unable to secure a move.
Toivonen has now stated that he does not regret turning down the move to Norwich City, and insists he is happy to stay in Eindhoven.
The 27 year old told Expressen, “The clubs were happy with the agreement, but I did not get what I wanted.”
“I am happy in Holland and the family enjoy themselves and if I don’t get what I want, I don’t move. There are three parties who need to be pleased.”
“Either the club do not want or you don’t get the conditions you want or the club do not want to sell you.I have experienced all of them.”
