toiv aToivonen’s contract is up in the summer, and PSV have failed to negotiate a new deal with the Swedish International despite offering better terms.

Now Toivonen has told Swedish media that he hopes to leave the club in January, but knows the situation is difficult with the club set to receive a lower fee.

He told Fotbollskanalen, “It’s a question of: how do I get what I want and how to get PSV something for me, the big question remains whether I should leave bite marks or not,”

Norwich City agreed a deal with PSV for the forward in the summer, but the player was not interested in a move to the Canaries, while Newcastle United, and Benfica have also been linked.

The 27 year old joined PSV back in 2008 from Malmo and has made 136 league appearances for the club, and scored 60 goals despite his move from striker to midfield.
