Despite having Nigerian parents and being born in Germany, Ehizibue has represented Netherlands’ under 21s due to developing in PEC Zwolle’s academy from a young age. The 21-year-old made three appearances in his breakthrough season and held down regular playing time in the last campaign for Zwolle, playing 28 games and scoring four goals from both right-back and right-wing.

Playing style

As mentioned above, Ehizibue is versatilite, having shown his adaptability down the right-side of the pitch. Perhaps this could hamper his progress, seeing as he needs to settle into one position to fully maximise his offensive or defensive abilities, conveyed on a few occasions by some frailties when defending against the Eredivisie’s better sides.

Ehizibue is showing promise though, as his pace and dangerous shooting have caused problems for opposition.

What can we expect from Ehizibue this season?

More appearances for Zwolle are certain. Although it’s difficult to tell whether he’ll finally hold down right-back or right-wing. It’ll also be interesting to see whether he can make an impact on the international stage.
