sherwoodLast week Frank de Boer said in an interview with BBC that he would be interested in coaching a club like Tottenham or Liverpool in the future, when he leaves Ajax.

This statement has been met with fierce criticism from Spurs boss Tim Sherwood, who was appointed after De Boer turned down the opportunity to replace the sacked Andre Villas Boas in December.

Sherwood is quoted by Sky Sports saying, “It’s natural I suppose, it’s a big job, but I don’t think I would ever tout myself about for a job when someone was already in the hot seat,”

“But if they want to do that, that’s up to them. I don’t know Frank. I’m not sure. I’m relaxed about it. But it wouldn’t be something I would be doing.”

“They just want to put themselves in the frame. Obviously they are not happy with the jobs they are doing if they are touting themselves for the Tottenham job.

Sherwood has an 18 month deal with Tottenham but is expected to be replaced by current Netherlands national team boss Louis van Gaal in the summer.
