The newspaper reports that Tottenham are willing to offer €20 million to bring the ambitious young Dutch star to the Premier League. This offer should be tempting enough for PSV to accept, and Depay himself will be willing to speak with Tottenham, after declaring himself ready to leave the Eindhoven club.
Last week the winger said, “I have done my time at PSV but if nice clubs from big leagues ask, I will think about it. There is lots of interest but it is definitely an option to stay.”
“I understand fans want me to play well this season in Eindhoven, but I’m one who decides how my career will look, no one else.”
Despite De Telegraaf’s reports, there has still been no official bid for Depay from any club, according to Eindhoven Dagblad reporter Rik Elfrink. This morning PSV traveled to Austria for the 2nd leg of their Europa League qualifier with Sank Polten, and Depay was on the plane.
Depay is one of Netherlands brightest young talents, with the 20-year-old showcasing his tremendous skills at the World Cup this summer. A quick, skillful winger, with a thunderous right foot, Depay would no doubt be a huge asset in the Premier League, but unless Tottenham make an official offer, he will stay for the moment in Eindhoven.
