Frank de Boer has been linked with the vacant Southampton post but according to reports in England the Dutchman is not first choice for the Premier League club.

The Telegraph is reporting that Southampton’s number one target is Rudi Garcia, who has been without a club since leaving Roma in December.

Roma to submit Wijnaldum offer

Italian side Roma see Newcastle United midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum as the perfect replacement for Miralem Pjanic and are ready to submit an offer for the Dutchman.

According to Sky Italia, Roma are to offer Newcastle a loan to buy deal with a big buy out clause. That means Roma would pay Newcastle little up front but if they decide to make the move permanent they would need to stump up a big fee.

Leon Bailey not a feasible signing for Ajax

Genk technical director Dimitri De Conde doesn’t believe Ajax have the means to sign their striker Leon Bailey.

Conde told Belang van Limburg, “There is a financial and a sporting side to the story.

“First, there are not many clubs who are willing and able to meet the financial conditions after his new contract. I do not think a transfer for instance, Ajax is feasible, though they have indeed contacted us.”

PEC Zwolle sign Ajax youngster

PEC Zwolle have signed Ajax youngster Philippe Sandler on a three-year-deal.

The 19-year-old defender becomes the clubs fourth signing after Calvin Verdonk, Anass Achabar, and Ted van de Pavert.

Roda JC land Cambuur winger

Roda JC have completed the signing of winger Mikhail Rosheuvel on a two-year-deal.

The 25-year-old joins Roda on a free transfer after leaving Cambuur at the end of the season.

Cas Peters to leave De Graafschap

After the KNVB ruling on Friday that saved FC Twente and relegated De Graafschap, Cas Peters is set to leave the Superboeren.

The striker signed a two-year-deal with De Graafschap last summer, but inserted a clause in his contract which allows him to leave following relegation. The 23-year-old has not yet confirmed his intentions.
