The 19-year-old forward initially joined Vitesse in January last year after Chelsea snapped him up from French club Auxerre, and the Burkina Faso international netted three goals in 17 matches towards the end of last season.
After agreeing to another season on loan in Arnhem, Traore has been in great form, scoring 16 goals as Vitesse qualified for the Europa League. Speaking to De Telegraaf he revealed that Chelsea are happy with his development and he is hoping to get the chance to impress during pre-season.
Traore said, “Chelsea are very happy with my development”
“But I will only know after the holidays which direction my career is going. I am ready and when the opportunity comes I am not afraid to show my talent at Chelsea.”
Vitesse would be open to keeping Traore for another season if he will not get a chance with Chelsea, but coach Peter Bosz believes that is unlikely due to Jose Mourinho’s love of the player.
Bosz said, “Jose Mourinho is crazy about him and if the opportunity is there they would prefer to take him back.”
