FC Twente consolidated their chances of reaching the European play-offs with a comfortable win over troubled NEC Nijmegen.

The fanatical Twente supporters who call Vak-P their home in the Grolsche-Veste decided to protest against police action during their last home tie with PSV and the stand was empty at kick-off. They missed the opening goal as Enes Unal headed in a corner on twelve minutes tp put Twente ahead. After that the fans started to trickle in and the stand filled up.

Out of form NEC Nijmegen failed to react to going down and Twente continued to create chances with Bersant Celina forcing Joris Delle into a smart save before Yaw Yeboah hit the bar.

In the 58th minutes, Fredrik Jensen played a nice one-two with Unal before smashing the ball past Delle to double the hosts lead. Unal then sealed the win in the final minute with a lovely clipped finish over Delle.

The win keeps Twente in seventh while NEC drop into 17th place and they are running out of games to prevent them from taking place in the end of season relegation play-offs.
