FC Twente has finally ended their winless run on Saturday with a 2-0 victory against Sparta Rotterdam.

The 10th of November was the last time that FC Twente tasted victory in the Eredivisie and the club have been sliding towards the drop zone.

However, the draw at PSV last week will have lifted confidence in Enschede and the hosts looked threatening from the start against Sparta. However, Noa Lang and Haris Vuckic could not deliver the opening goal.

After the break, neither side looked capable of breaking the deadlock until 10 minutes from time. A corner was missed by Ariel Harush and Peet Bijen headed into an empty net.

Sparta were then reduced to ten men with Mohamed Rayhi seeing his second yellow card. Minutes later, Lang settled the victory for Twente with his first goal since joining the club on loan from Ajax.

The victory moves Twente up to 12th while Sparta are 11th.
