FC Twente has climbed to third in the Eredivisie with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Utrecht.

FC Twente are having a wonderful campaign and a week after their 0-0 draw at Ajax, they knew a win against Utrecht would keep them in the race for top spot.

The first half seemed like it was going to end goalless but in stoppage time, Ramiz Zerrouki set Vaclav Cerny in on goal and the winger fired Twente in front.

Ricky van Wolfswinkel headed just wide before Virgil Misidjan doubled the lead with a placed shot in the 64th minute.

Utrecht were without Jens Toornstra and Sander van de Streek and they failed to make an impact in Enschede. Cerny could have added a third before the end but his strike went wide.

Twente are now third in the Eredivisie and only four points off top spot. Utrecht is in 8th.
