Feyenoord and Twente were battling for the midfielder, but Ziyech has today chosen the move to Enschede, and will sign a four-year-contract.
The players agent confirmed to De Telegraaf that despite Feyenoord offering Ziyech more money, the player has chosen Twente because he will be able to play in his preferred position of number ten.
Mustapha Nakhli said, “Hakim has had an excellent meeting with Feyenoord coach Fred Rutten and negotiations with technical director Martin van Gaal went perfect. The contract offered was great, even better than that of FC Twente. But he has not gone for the money, but has chosen a sporting challenge. ”
The 21-year-old made 39 league appearances for Heerenveen since making his debut in 2012, and netted ten times for the club. His final appearance came on Friday with Ziyech netting in a 1-1 draw against Feyenoord.
Ziyech will now join his new teammates for their Europa League tie against Qarabag in Azerbaijan in midweek
Paaaah another loss for Feyennord.
