FC Twente beat rivals Heracles Almelo 2-1 on Friday evening with Danny Holla scoring the winner with an excellent free kick.

The home side that were searching for only their second win of the season so far got off to a flyer with the opening goal in the second minute. Tom Boere’s strike was parried away by Bram Castro but Fredrik Jensen followed up to slide in the opener.
Heracles equalised in the 52nd minute through Paul Gladon who got ahead of his marker to head Brahim Darri’s cross into the bottom corner.
Twente brought on Danny Holla with twenty minutes to go and the midfielder proved to be the match-winner with a stunning free kick which Castro couldn’t keep out.
Jeff Hardeveld nearly equalised before the end but Twente held on for a victory which lifts them to 15th while Heracles are 11th.
