Ajax has ended their UEFA Youth League group stage with a 6-2 win over Rangers.

Ajax had already sealed their place in the next round but they could still have finished top of the group if they won and Liverpool didn’t.

After only eight minutes, Ajax had the lead through David Kalokoh and Rangers were then reduced to ten men with Bailey Rice seeing red. The Scottish side then struck twice through Ross McCausland to take the lead, but Kalokoh got his second before the break to make it 2-2 at the break.

In the second half, Ajax eased to victory with an own goal by Kevin Ciubotaru and goals by Chachine van Bohemen, Rida Chahid and Yoram Boerhout leading them to a 6-2 win.

Ajax progresses in second place because Liverpool hammered Napoli 5-0. The draw for the next round takes place next week.
