PSV Eindhoven’s U19’s are facing a battle to reach the UEFA Youth League knockout rounds after a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Two weeks ago, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side gave up a 2-0 lead against the English side as they were forced to take a point. With four points from their opening three games, PSV were in a decent position but the clash in London was crucial.

After only seven minutes, Tottenham took the lead with Malachi Walcott heading a corner past PSV goalkeeper Kyan Van Dorp.

PSV then grew into the game and they had several chances to level. However, Yorbe Vertessen and Nigel Thomas missed decent opportunities, while Sekou Sididé had an effort cleared off the line by Walcott.

In the second half, PSV failed to find an equaliser and in the final minute, Troy Parrott netted on the counter to seal victory for the hosts.

PSV now have four points from four games and must now prepare for clashes with Inter Milan and Barcelona. PSV are third in the group, Tottenham (6pts) second and Barcelona (10pts) top.
