Utrecht were made to rue a red card to Adam Sorata as PEC Zwolle came from behind to win 2-1 at the Galgenwaard.

benson aAfter an uneventful 24 minutes, Utrecht took the lead as Juan Agudelo netted his first goal for the club with a stunning strike into the top corner from the edge of the box.

Steve de Ridder came close to making it 2-0 just after the break but his powerful effort was turned onto the bar by Diederik Boer.

On 58 minutes the game was turned on its head when Adam Sorata was shown a straight red card for a late challenge on Guyon Fernandez.

With the extra man PEC Zwolle took control and found an equaliser through Denis Mahmudov on 74 minutes. The substitute perfectly headed Mustafa Saymak’s cross into the net for his first goal for the club.

Three minutes later it was 2-1 as a corner was not cleared allowing Fred Benson to spin on the edge of the box and send a shot past Robbin Ruiter into the corner.

Utrecht pushed for an equaliser, but Zwolle held on to move up a place into 8th, while Utrecht sit 12th.
