Cambuur ended a run of four Eredivisie games without a win as they came from behind to beat Utrecht 3-1 and climb into the top six.

camutrjdndjdThe game started slowly and it wasn’t until the 24th minute that there was finally some action as Ramon Leeuwin was pulled to the ground in the box, earning Utrecht a penalty. Ruud Boymans slammed the ball into the bottom corner to make it 1-0.

A minute later Utrecht were awarded another penalty when Kristoffer Petersen was chopped down by Etienne Reijnen. However this time Leonard Nienhuis guessed the right way to deny Boymans his second. The missed proved crucial as on 38 minutes Martijn Barto guided Calvin Mac-Intosch’s cross past Robbin Ruiter to give Cambuur an equaliser.

Rubio Rubin entered the game with 30 minutes to go, but the American could not inspire his side and Utrecht looked lifeless as the match went on. Cambuur deservedly took the lead on 82 minutes as Bartholomew Ogbeche netting Furdjel Narsingh’s cross from close range.

In the final minute of time Cambuur sealed the win through Dejan Meleg, who was found all alone in the box before lifting the ball past Ruiter.

Cambuur climb above PEC Zwolle into sixth, while Utrecht sit 11th.
