Sebastien Haller became the joint top foreign scorer for Utrecht after netting in a simple 2-0 win over Willem II.

After only ten minutes, Utrecht took the lead through Haller, who raced onto a through ball by Kevin Conboy before slotting into the net. That was Haller’s fortieth goal for Utrecht, equaling the club record Stefaan Tanghe set as the top scoring foreigner at the club.

The hosts then wasted several chances to put the game to bed with Sofyan Amrabat and Yassin Ayoub among those who passed up opportunities.

Eventually, in stoppage time Richairo Zivkovic added the second from close range after Nacer Barazite’s strike came back off both posts.

The win moves Utrecht five points clear in fourth while Willem II are 10th.
