Willem II midfielder Anouar Kali has returned to Utrecht for a third spell at the club.

Kali previously played for Utrecht between 2010-2013 and 2014-2015 but has now returned once more, signing a two-year contract on Monday with the option of a third.

Coach Erik ten Hag told the Utrecht website, Erik Ten Hag: “With Wout Brama’s departure and Rico Strieder’s rehabilitation we are vulnerable in this position and this offers Utrecht a great alternative. Anouar can perfectly complement the role, it fits seamlessly into our profile. He has grown in recent seasons, the climate of FC Utrecht has changed and he has said yes to it. ”

The 26-year-old had previously played for Roda JC and Al-Arabi before he joined Willem II last summer. He has previously made 65 league appearances for Utrecht scoring twice.
