The 19-year-old Swede joined Liverpool from Savadalens IF in 2011, but in three years Peterson has failed to make a single appearance for the Premier League club. Last season Peterson was sent out on loan to Tranmere, and the right winger made seven appearances for the league one club.
Today Liverpool confirmed that Peterson has signed a four-year-deal with Utrecht after the two clubs agreed an undisclosed fee, and the youngster is set to make his debut this Saturday against Heerenveen.
Peterson becomes Utrecht’s ninth signing of the summer, and eases the pain for the fans after they lost key midfielder Jens Toornstra to Feyenoord earlier this week.
