Mark van Bommel was left disappointed after PSV Eindhoven’s KNVB cup exit to RKC Waalwijk.

Van Bommel made eleven changes for the cup clash and his makeshift side took the lead twice before going down 3-2 after extra-time.

Speaking to Fox Sports, the coach said on the reserves that played, “They are not as far as we thought they were.

“It can not be explained. It is seriously disappointing. It just can not be that you take the lead twice and still lose to RKC.

“The only excuse they could have is that they do not play often and not in this composition. But that can not be an excuse. It is a shame that we do not continue.”
