Despite being out of the competition before their final clash with Internazionale, PSV boss Mark van Bommel is satisfied with his side’s performances in the Champions League.

PSV have only taken one point from five clashes so far and head to Milan already out of Europe. Despite this, van Bommel is targeting a victory, “We would like to win here. That it is not easy, we have also experienced that in London and Barcelona. We play well, but do not score points. We have to make that step.”

Van Bommel is happy with his side’s development in the competition, “We have really taken very big steps. The steps you take in these competitions are nice and instructive. You take that as a player and as a team.

“If you see how we started there (against BATE) … Very nervous and uncomfortable and how we played against Barcelona two weeks ago, the development of my team has been enormous. Maybe even bigger and faster than I expected. Everyone knows what to do in the field. Even if someone fails. And we have also grown as staff. That is a compliment to the boys.”
