De Boer was sacked by Crystal Palace on Monday after only 77 days in charge of the club, that lost all four of their opening Premier League matches.
Van Bronckhorst was asked his opinion on De Boer during his press conference on Tuesday and he responded, “I am very disappointed with that decision. He only had a few months, but in order to develop a team you need time and trust from the management. ”
Van Bronckhorst himself had a difficult first season in charge of Feyenoord but their board stuck with the coach and a season later they were Eredivisie champions.
