Donny van de Beek has been linked with several top European clubs this week but he states he is only focused on regaining his place in the Ajax line-up.

The midfielder has had a frustrating start to the season after losing his place in the starting line-up, but this week he was linked with Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.

Speaking to Fox Sports, van de Beek wouldn’t say much about a potential transfer, “It’s just important to me now that I focus on Ajax, I do not want to talk too much about that. I hope I can start again on Sunday, but I do not know if that will happen. I just do my best at the training and the trainer determines.”

On discussions with Erik ten Hag he added, “I say how I see it, he then says how he sees it. I just have to let my feet speak, but I can not do more either. I have to enforce it myself on the training sessions and then I hope the trainer will choose me again on Sunday.”

The 21-year-old was selected in the Netherlands squad despite his position at Ajax and he is delighted with the confidence he is getting from Ronald Koeman, “Of course, I did not play a number of times, so it may be that you are not there. There is a lot of confidence that the national coach has selected me again. I am very happy with that. “
