According to AD, John van den Brom will leave AZ Alkmaar at the end of the season and is the main candidate to replace Dick Advocaat at Utrecht.

Van den Brom has been in charge of AZ since 2014, making him the longest serving coach in the Eredivisie. However, things are going stale at the AFAS Stadion and the 52-year-old will reportedly step down from his position at the end of the season.

Arne Slot, who is currently an assistant to Van den Brom, is the attended successor at AZ.

Both AD and Voetbal International are reporting that Van den Brom is now set to take over at Utrecht after holding talks with owner Frans van Seumeren.

Dick Advocaat is currently head coach of Utrecht and has overseen a great run of form which has seen the club climb to fourth. However, he has made it clear that he is only staying until the end of the campaign.

Neither AZ or Utrecht have confirmed any of this news yet.
