NAC said goodbye to Stijn Vreven at the end of the season, despite finishing safely in 14th spot.

Mitchell van der Gaag, who left Excelsior at the end of the campaign, was their top target and on Tuesday morning they confirmed his appointment on a two-year deal with the option of an extra year.

Van der Gaag worked for two seasons with Excelsior and finished with the Rotterdammers in twelfth and eleventh in the Eredivisie. Before that the 46-year-old had spells in charge of Maritimo, Belenenses, Ermis and FC Eindhoven.
