Ajax director Edwin van der Sar is confident that the club can beat his former side Juventus in the Champions League quarterfinals.

On the 10th of April, Ajax will host Juventus in the Champions League quarterfinals.
Speaking to Italian outlet Sport Mediaset, van der Sar is confident of a win for Ajax, “It will be a great match against Juventus.
“We are very happy with our place in the quarterfinals. We achieved a very high level in Madrid against Real and hope to reach the same level again against Juventus in Amsterdam. The team is full of confidence. I think this team is capable of beating Juventus.”
Cristiano Ronaldo was injured on international duty, but van der Sar expects to see his former Manchester United teammate line-up for Juventus, “I know Cristiano very well. I played with him for four years. I know how quickly his body recovers after an injury and how enormously motivated he is. Cristiano will do everything to be there against Ajax, because he wants to win at all costs and reach the semi-final. But that also applies to Ajax.”
