van der vaartLast week Ajax coach Frank de Boer was open about wanting Van der Vaart to return to the club where his career began, as he sees the Dutch international as a perfect striker for the formation he wants to play.

Van der Vaart himself has always stated his intention to remain at Hamburg until his career ends, but with the club currently fighting off relegation and money worries they may wish to sell the 31-year-old this summer.

He said, “I have always said that Ajax is my club. Also i obviously know coach Frank de Boer very well.”
