Earlier this week, Bolasport reported that the veteran midfielder was being lined up for a sensational move to Indonesia with Bali United the club looking to sign the 34-year-old.

However, speaking to Sport1, Van der Vaart has dismissed the rumour and says he will stay at Midtjylland until at least January.

He said, “I’ve heard the story, but that’s what it is all about, I’ll stay in Denmark – at least until the winter,”

Van der Vaart has had a frustrating season so far in Denmark, not playing a single minute for Midtjylland’s first team. He was linked with a return to Ajax last summer but stayed in order to be closer to his girlfriend, who plays for Danish handball club Esbjerg fB.
