Van Gaal was appointed Netherlands boss earlier this month and he has three important World Cup qualifiers coming up next month. On the 1st of September, Norway welcome Oranje before Netherlands host Montenegro and Turkey.
On Friday, Van Gaal named his provisional squad for the matches with Feyenoord trio Justin Bijlow, Tyrell Malacia, and Guus Til all included. Ajax right-back Devyne Rensch is also included.
Netherlands captain Virgil van Dijk returns to the squad, while Remko Pasveer of Ajax and Joel Drommel of PSV Eindhoven are among the goalkeepers.
There is no place for Jasper Cillessen, Denzel Dumfries, Owen Wijndal, Quincy Promes, Patrick van Aanholt or Luuk de Jong. Several of these players are injured or have not had a pre-season.
The full squad can be seen below. The final selection will be confirmed later in the month.
Cillessen and Dumfries?
Having hard time understanding …
Very good selections. The only player I would have liked to be included and deserves to be given a chance is Joey veerman.
With Van Gaal in.charge I have a good feeling this team will do well.
I predicted 19 names of the list
Van gaal has picked an ajax right back ahead of dumfries who was holland best player at the euros already looking like a bad idea to hire him.
Is Dumfries & Cillessen injured?
