Liverpool has confirmed that Virgil van Dijk’s knee surgery has been a success.

The Netherlands captain suffered a serious injury in Liverpool’s clash with Everton two weeks ago.

It has now been confirmed that Van Dijk has had knee surgery and it has been successful. Jurgen Klopp told his press conference on Friday, “It couldn’t have gone better and that’s the best news we could get.”

There is no timescale given for Van Dijk’s recovery but he is expected to be out for six to eight months.
