van d celticCeltic face Ajax in the Champions League on Tuesday at Celtic Park, and Louis van Gaal is set to be in attendance to watch over the ex-Groningen defender.

Van Dijk has stated that although he is happy Van Gaal will be watching, a good performance is all he is hoping for, and is not putting any pressure on himself.

He stated, “If he is coming then it will be great, of course, but I still want to play a good game just for myself and we will see what happens. I just want to play my own game and not put any more pressure on myself.”

“It is definitely a dream to play for the national team. There are a lot of good players, but I have never been invited for the first team of Holland, so I have never had to think about it.”

Since joining Celtic in the summer, Van Dijk has earned rave reviews from the clubs fans, and pundits as his side sit top of the SPL table.
