Liverpool eased to a 4-0 victory over second placed Leicester City to move 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League.

On the back of their Club World Cup success last week, Liverpool headed to Leicester City, who were their nearest title rivals. Georginio Wijnaldum and Virgil van Dijk were both present in the starting eleven for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Both sides went close before Roberto Firmino opened the scoring in the 31st minute. In the second half, a James Milner penalty made it 2-0 before Firmino and Trent Alexander-Arnold quickly wrapped up a big 4-0 victory.

Liverpool now move 13 points clear at the top and have a game in hand on Leicester City. It is going to take a big loss of form in the second half of the season to prevent Wijnaldum and van Dijk from getting their hands on the Premier League trophy in May.
