Louis van Gaal has announced his 30-man provisional Netherlands squad for this summers World Cup.

van persie nedJust after 8pm Uk time, the KNVB released the list of 30 players who will train under Van Gaal over the next few weeks, before the squad is reduced to 23 names before June 2nd. The squad will this Saturday face Ecuador in a friendly at the Amsterdam Arena.

Unsurprisingly big names such as Robin van Persie, Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder, and Klaas jan Huntelaar were all named in the squad, alongside youngsters such as Terence Kongolo, Memphis Depay and Jean Paul Boetius.

PSG right back Gregory van der Wiel was a shock omission, while Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk, Chelsea midfielder Marco van Ginkel, and Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen also miss out.
