van gaal ma boIts been a month to forget for Louis van Gaal, who’s Manchester United side have gone on a six game win-less streak, which has seen them not only exit the Champions League but also slip to 5th in the Premier League.

Saturday evening’s 2-1 loss at home to Norwich City appears to have been the final straw for fans of the club, who showed their frustration at the 68-year-old’s reign by chanting the name of former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho during the torrid defeat.

Monday’s newspapers also spelt bad news for Van Gaal with reports that the Dutchman is on the edge of losing his job. A defeat to Stoke City on Boxing day could spell the end of his 16 month spell in charge of the club.

Van Gaal himself admitted that he was worried, but he thought he would be given the chance to turn the club around. He said, “Yes, of course I am worried about my job, because I know belief in a manager is very important so when you lose games then the belief in the manager will decrease,”

“So that is happening now and I cannot close my eyes to that. But I have belief in myself and I think I can turn this around. I don’t think a change of management shall bring direct success. But that is what I believe and maybe in this matter that is not so interesting.”

A poll on our own Twitter account asking whether Manchester United should sack Louis van Gaal saw 78% of 1090 voters saying yes. Its a difficult time for the former Netherlands boss, and this weekend may end with the Premier League giants seeking a new man in charge.
