According to NOS, Louis van Gaal is open to taking on the Netherlands job for a third time.

With Ronald Koeman leaving to take over at Barcelona, the KNVB are looking for a new head coach for the national team.

NOS has spoken with Louis van Gaal, and the 69-year-old has told them that he is open to the position should the KNVB approach him.

Van Gaal led Netherlands to the World Cup semi-finals in 2014 but then retired after being sacked by Manchester United in 2016. However, he will not immediately turn down the chance to coach his country once again.

Van Gaal was also in charge between 2000 and 2001 but left after Netherlands failed to reach the 2002 World Cup.

Dwight Lodeweges will take charge of the Netherlands for their UEFA Nations League ties with Poland and Italy next month. After those games the KNVB will appoint a successor to take charge for Euro 2020.
