Van Gaal is currently leading a training camp of 20 Eredivisie players, who have a chance of going to the World Cup, but on Monday night the players will be sent home, with some to return on Thursday in preparation for the first pre-tournament friendly with Ecuador on Saturday.
On Tuesday the big star names such as Robin van persie, Arjen Robben, Klaas jan Huntelaar, and Wesley Sneijder should all be called up into the provisional squad.
However in my opinion only 11 players are 100% assured of their involvement in the 30-man squad, and those are:
Goalkeepers: Jasper Cillessen
Defenders: Daryl Janmaat, Ron Vlaar
Midfielders: Daley Blind, Wesley Sneijder, Jordy Clasie, Nigel de Jong
Attackers: Klaas jan Huntelaar, Dirk Kuyt, Robin van Persie, Arjen Robben
There are others who should be included in the final squad, like Memphis Depay, Bruno Martins Indi, Michael Vorm, and Joel Veltman, but their is question marks over the inclusion of experienced players such as Rafael van der Vaart, Tim Krul or Jeremain Lens.
Players who could potentially be called up are:
Goalkeepers: Michael Vorm, Tim Krul, Jeroen Zoet, Maarten Stekelenburg, Michael Vorm
Full Backs: Gregory van der Wiel, Terence Kongolo, Erik Pieters, Paul Verhaegh, Patrick van Aanholt
Centre Backs: Bruno Martins Indi, Stefan de Vrij, Joel Veltman, Karim Rekik, John Heitinga, Virgil van Dijk, Nick Viergever
Midfielders: Davy Klaassen, Tonny Vilhena, Leroy Fer, Rafael van der Vaart, Marco van Ginkel, Georginio Wijnaldum, Jonathan de Guzman, Davy Propper, Hakim Ziyech
Wingers: Memphis Depay, Jean Paul Boetius, Jeremain Lens, Quincy Promes, Luciano Narsingh
Strikers: Luc Castaignos
Very unlikely: Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Siem de Jong, Joris Mathijsen, Ola John, Jens Toornstra, Richairo Zivkovic, Urby Emanuelson, Ruben Schaken,
Tonight there will be a lot of Dutchmen sleeping nervously, and tomorrow they will find out if their World Cup dream is dead or alive.
