The 66-year-old has been out of work since being sacked by Manchester United in 2016 and he has told BILD that he is currently enjoying his retirement, despite receiving offers from around the world.

He said, “I still get offers every week, which I find incredible but if you’ve worked at Ajax, FC Barcelona, the Dutch national team, Bayern Munich and Manchester United, the offers are no longer interesting.”

Van Gaal revealed that he has refused a €25 million offer from China. When asked if he would be interested should PSG come calling, he responded, “That would be great, but it is not that easy, I would have to learn a new language again and French would be difficult for me. Communication is the most important thing for a coach, but PSG is a top team. “
