Louis van Gaal has labeled Robin van Persie’s goal celebration “Stupid” after the Dutch striker netted an equaliser against Chelsea in the final minute of their tie on Sunday.

With Chelsea leading 1-0 going into the 94th minute, Robin van Persie smashed in an equaliser fter a scramble in the box to earn his side a point at Old Trafford.
However boss Louis van Gaal was unhappy that his striker then received a yellow card for taking off his shirt in celebration,branding Van Persie, “Stupid”.
Van Gaal said after the match, “You have seen a stupid reaction after the goal,”
“You can be excited but you don’t have to pull your shirt off. Then you have a yellow card, that is not so smart.”
Van Persie himself said on the incident, “I know it’s one of the rules that you have to keep your shirt on but sometimes you forget and everything comes together and the whole place explodes,”
“It was one of those fantastic moments and the main thing today is that we got something out of this game because we deserved it.
