mila van ginklVan Ginkel joined AC Milan on loan from Chelsea in the summer with the hope the midfielder would gain first team action after missing most of last season through injury, but he has been restricted by further problems so far this campaign.

The former Vitesse star suffered an ankle injury early in the season which kept him out for a month, and just as it seems he was getting back to full fitness and impressing in a start against Udinese two weeks ago, Van Ginkel has suffered another injury.

Teammate Sulley Muntarti caught Van Ginkel during training with an over the top challenge, damaging ligaments and it appears the midfielder won’t play again until 2015.

Speaking to the Sport-Promotion website, Van Ginkel admitted his annoyance at the tackle, “Of course you need to go for it in training, but there are limits. This was an exaggerated action.”

Since leaving Vitesse in 2013, Van Ginkel has only made six first team appearances for both Chelsea and AC Milan in what is turning into an injury plagued career for the 22-year-old.
