Van Ginkel featured predominately throughout Chelsea’s pre-season, but the Dutchman was not even named on the bench for their Premier League opener against Burnley, despite the fact both Ramires, and Mohamed Salah were missing.
The competition for places in the Chelsea midfield is too great at the moment, and Van Ginkel’s agent Karel Jansen told AD that although the former Vitesse star wants to stay, he may have too leave to gain first team football.
Jansen said on the possibility of a loan deal, “We are in talks with Chelsea. Of course Marco wants to fight for his chances, but there must be perspective,”
“Monday night was not pleasant to see, of course. We are waiting for a response from Chelsea on how they see it.”
Jansen wen’t on to say that he doesn’t think a return to the Eredivisie is on the cards, with PSV reportedly interested, as he feels the Dutch league is, “Too low a level.”
Van Ginkel is waiting for offers from Germany, Spain, and Italy.
