hooijdonkThe former Feyenoord and Celtic striker, now a pundit, stated during the 2014 World Cup that Van Persie should be dropped by Netherlands, and also claimed the forward was being forced out of Manchester United.

After the 3rd place play-off win over Brazil, Van Persie hit back by stating Van Hooijdonk should stop “creating problems” and “stick to golf”.

Speaking to television show Derksen &, Van Hooijdonk spoke about his unhappiness at Van Persie’s comments, and thinks it says a lot about the now Fenerbahce striker’s character that the feud is ongoing.

The 45-year-old said, “Obviously he has more problems with me than I with him,”

“I may have been too soft on him, so people could not say I wanted to take revenge on him when I reacted back then.

“I don’t know what his problem is. This says more about him than about me, but I did think for a second: you ass****.”
