Huddersfield currently sit third in the Championship table and van la Parra has played a key role in their battle to reach the Premier League. The former Heerenveen star has made 28 league appearances so far, netting once and adding three assists.

Speaking to AD, Van la Parra has urged Netherlands boss Danny Blind to take notice of the Championship and also tipped Crystal Palace’s Patrick van Aanholt for a call-up.

He said, “They think that we play kick and rush in the Championship.

“But the coach would best look here once. Players from the Premier League should be given priority, but even those are often overlooked. Personally, I think Patrick van Aanholt should be given a chance. He is performing very well, first at Sunderland and now at Crystal Palace.”

Van la Parra also hopes for his Oranje debut, “If we get into the Premier League, then I may come to expect something.”
