According to Voetbal International, Bert van Marwijk is set to take charge of the United Arab Emirates national team.

Van Marwijk has emerged as the top candidate to take over the Asian national ahead of Hervé Renard (national coach of Morocco), Henk ten Cate (current club coach at Al Wahda), Juan Antonio Pizzi (ex-national coach of Chile and Saudi Arabia) and Zlatko Dalic.

The 66-year-old former Netherlands boss will oversee the UAE as they look to reach the 2022 World Cup. An official confirmation has still not been made.

Van Marwijk has been out of work since taking charge of Australia at last years World Cup. He has been acting as an adviser to Mark van Bommel at PSV.
