The 38 year old has been training with the club for two days and exchanging insights with Joe Zinnbauer, Peter Knabel and Bernhard Peters.
This is what the 70 time capped Dutch international had to say about the whole thing at the pre match press conference,
“I’m happy to be back here and to greet acquaintances.”
About the game he added,
“I hope that we will create the fourth consecutive home win and get away a bit down there.”
The former Manchester united man is expected to be on the bench for Hamburg’s match against Stuttgart; incidentally against whom he scored his first goals for the club in a 3-1 win.
Before this job he was an assistant coach at young PSV, while he is an assistant to coach Guus Hiddink in the Dutch national team.
