Robin van Persie has thanked everyone for their well wishes after he suffered a bad looking eye injury on Sunday.

The striker netted early in Fenerbahce’s match with Akhisar Belediyespor but just before half time he was taken off the pitch on a stretcher after taking a knock in the eye.
There was a fear that van Persie had suffered a serious injury and he was taken straight to hospital, but the club announced later on Sunday evening that the forward had only suffered a torn eyelid and nothing more serious.
On Monday, Van Persie took to his twitter account to thank everyone for their messages of support.
