Things may be turning around for RvP and Manchester United following a much needed win at Old Trafford. After losing the first leg 2-0, it looked like the Greek side may be upsetting the Premier League giants; but, Robin Van Persie and co. had something else in mind.
While the team wasn’t perfect, Rooney and Van Persie linked up in the attacking half much better than they have been recently; and, a free kick from distance saw the Manchester team seal the deal.
Much has been said about Manchester United this season; and, almost as much has been said about Van Persie. But regardless of what troubles he has had with the club, his manager, and his teammates in the past – they’ll all be celebrating a well deserved victory tonight.
However their was a worry for Manchester United and Netherlands fans near the end of the game when Van Persie left the field on a stretcher. On Thursday the striker will have tests over a suspected hamstring injury, and everyone involved at the club and Netherlands national side will be hopeful for a quick recovery.
