FIFA have today announced that Netherlands and Manchester United striker Robin van Persie is in the final three nominated for the Puskas award.

Van Persie is up for the award, which celebrates the goal of the year, after his stunning diving header against Spain at the World Cup.
The forward faces competition from Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez and Irish attacker Stephanie Roache, who make up the final three. The winner of the award will be announced on the 12th of January.
Also announced today was the final three for the Ballon D’or award and despite being initially nominated Arjen Robben has missed out on the top three, while Louis van Gaal also failed to make the cut for the coach of the year.
Arjen Robben does have a chance of being named in the team of the year after his name appeared on the list of attackers nominated.

FIFA what a fucking joke…why don’t they just rename the organization to be a public merger between Adidas & Nike and make Messi and Ronaldo joint CEOs…atleast that way other footballers wouldn’t get their hopes up or waste money travelling to the awards gala as a cruel joke!
After reading the article I was inspired to go and look at the highlights of that wonderful game; the Netherlands vs Spain. It still brings a tear to my eye.
